Privacy Policy

Your logs stay yours.

Effective September 2, 2026  ·  Last updated September 2, 2026

The short version

This policy explains what the (dry)Rise mobile app (on iOS and Android) collects, why, and the choices you have. In this policy, "we," "us," and "(dry)Rise" refer to the makers of the app. By using (dry)Rise you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We only collect what the app needs to work.

  • Account details. Your email address and password, managed for us by Amazon Cognito, plus the date of birth and sex you provide when you sign up. We use these to secure your account and to tailor your predictions.
  • Your entries (health-related). The times you log bathroom visits, and the predictions and reminder schedules the app builds from them. We treat this as sensitive health-related information and handle it with care.
  • Product analytics. Anonymous usage signals — when you open the app, which screens you view, and which features you use — collected through PostHog. These are tied to a random identifier and your account ID, not to the contents of your bathroom logs or other health entries.
  • Reminders. If you turn on reminders, they are scheduled locally on your device.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers.

How we use it

  • To run the core service — record your visits, learn your rhythm, and predict your next window.
  • To send the optional reminders you choose to enable.
  • To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
  • To understand — in aggregate and anonymously — which features help, so we can improve the app.
  • To send essential messages about your account or the service (not marketing).

Where it's stored & who we share it with

Your data lives on your device and in our cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services, hosted in the United States. It syncs to your account so your history is there when you sign in.

We share data only with the service providers that help us run the app, and only so they can perform their function on our behalf:

  • Amazon Web Services — account sign-in and secure data storage.
  • PostHog — anonymous product analytics.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights, or security of our users and the service.

How we protect it

Your data is encrypted in transit, sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito, and access to stored data is restricted. No app or service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information and keep them under review.

Your choices & retention

You're in control of your data:

  • Review your history at any time inside the app.
  • Turn reminders on or off whenever you like.
  • Delete your account and data. Email privacy@trydryrise.com from the address on your account and we'll permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days. (One-tap deletion inside the app is coming in an update.)

We keep your entries until you ask us to delete them or delete your account. See our account deletion page for the exact steps and what's removed.

Your regional rights

Depending on where you live — for example, under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to certain uses. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we'll respond as required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app. Please check back from time to time.
